Public Protector talks Good Governance and Municipal Demarcation at SALGA event in Cape Town
Public Protector Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane will on Thursday, be part of a panel discussion focusing on Municipal Demarcation and its impact on Good Governance and Municipal Sustainability.
The discussion is part of the South African Local Government Association (SALGA) Council of Mayors’ event hosted by the City of Cape Town. Adv. Mkhwebane will be sharing a platform with the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA), Hon. Andries Nel, Auditor-General Mr Kimi Makwetu and Chairperson of Municipal Demarcation Board Ms Jane Thupana.
Other speakers at the event includes Minister of COGTA Hon. Des van Rooyen, Deputy Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Hon. Llewellyn Landers and President of SALGA Cllr. Parks Tau.
The event brings under one roof Mayors and Executive Mayors to deliberate on issues affecting them and local government at large. The panel discussion is scheduled as follows:
