Public Protector Stakeholder Roadshow turns to Limpopo
Public Protector Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane and Deputy Public Protector Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka will on Wednesday hold talks with the Speaker of the Limpopo Provincial Legislature Hon. Rosemary Molapo, Premier Stanely Mathabatha, MECs, and senior officials at the Provincial Legislature in Lebowakgomo.
Adv. Mkhwebane and Adv. Gcaleka will then meet with the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders before conducting inspections in loco at service delivery problem areas in Polokwane. The visit to the Limpopo forms part of the ongoing Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) Stakeholder Roadshow, a flagship outreach programme in terms of which the institution engages parties interested in its work in fulfilment of its constitutional mandate to investigate, report on and remedy alleged or suspected improper conduct in all state affairs and to be accessible to all persons and communities.
Through the roadshow, the PPSA seeks to strengthen ties and foster collaboration and cooperation between itself and organs of state including provincial legislatures, government departments, municipalities and traditional authorities, with a view to promoting quality service delivery and good governance in state affairs. The visit to Limpopo marks the sixth stop of the roadshow since it commenced mid-February. Thus far, it has been to the Free State, Northern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, the North West and the Western Cape. It will proceed to Gauteng on Friday.
