Public Protector South Africa conducts inspection in loco in the Northern Cape
The Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) leadership led by Acting Public Protector Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka will on Tuesday, 15 November, 2022 be in the Northern Cape to conduct an inspection in loco at several points that are a subject of on-going investigations by the office.
Amongst the places to be visited, is the sewer dam and a related pump station that are said to be troubling the residents of the Sol Plaatjie Municipality.
Adv. Gcaleka and the team will also visit the Thole family whose child drowned at a water hole at the Gogga pump station in September. Premier Zamani Saul and several Members of his cabinet, will join Adv. Gcaleka during the inspections.
The two leaders will also sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at fostering cooperation and compliance in respect of investigations and the implementation of remedial action prescribed by the office.
In October, Adv. Gcaleka led the office in an annual commemoration of the Good Governance month during which the office shines a spotlight on the importance of good governance in state affairs and how the application thereof lead to state organs that are responsive to the needs of the public.
