Public Protector launches nationwide good governance and service delivery roadshow The Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) will this week kick-start a monthlong, countrywide stakeholder roadshow aimed at strengthening ties and fostering collaboration and cooperation with organs of state including provincial legislatures, government departments, municipalities and traditional authorities, with a view to promoting quality service delivery and good governance in state affairs.
The roadshow will see Public Protector Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane and Deputy Public Protector Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka visiting provinces to hold talks with Speakers of Provincial Legislatures, Premiers, MECs, DirectorsGeneral, Heads of Departments, Provincial Houses of Traditional Leaders, Mayors, councillors and the public. On the side-lines of meetings, Adv. Mkhwebane and Adv. Gcaleka, accompanied by local government and traditional authorities, and community representatives, will conduct inspections in loco at identified service delivery points.
The roadshow commences with a two-day visit to the Free State, where Adv. Mkhwebane and Adv. Gcaleka will meet with Speaker of the Provincial Legislature, Hon. Ntombizanele Sifuba, the Provincial Executive Council, Director-General and Heads of Department in Mangaung.
This will be followed by an engagement with the Provincial House of Traditional Leaders and the Kholokoe Traditional Council, and an inspection in loco of a service delivery point in Harrismith.

The Public Protector Stakeholder Roadshow is a flagship outreach programme of the PPSA during which the office interacts with parties interested in its work in fulfilment of its constitutional obligation to be “accessible to all persons and communities”. Details of the next provincial visit will be shared in due course.
