Public Protector gets her third honorary doctorate

Public Protector Adv. Thuli Madonsela is to be conferred with her third honorary Doctor of Laws Degree during the Rhodes University graduations in Grahamstown, in the Eastern Cape on Friday.

Last month the University of Stellenbosch in the Western Cape awarded her a similar degree. That was two years after the University of Fort Hare in the Eastern Cape presented her with much the same honour.

The Public Protector will also speak at the ceremony.

The event will be held as follows:

The Public Protector will then on Saturday address a luncheon organised by the university on issues of transformation and ethical Leadership.

Her address will focus on “The role of ethical leadership in the transformation of South African institutions and society and how such leadership can be cultivated and promoted in institutions of education and in the broader South African society.”

The event will be attended by the management of the university, academics, students and members of the public.
