Public Protector to commemorate 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children in Cape Town
Public Protector Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane will on Thursday, 01 December 2016, lead her office’s commemoration of 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children in Khayelitsha, Western Cape.
The theme for this year’s event is 'Count me in: together moving a non-violent South Africa forward'.
The event will also be used to bring the services of the Public Protector closer to the community of Khayelitsha.
Adv. Mkhwebane will be accompanied by a team of investigators who will register complaints on site. People with complaints are urged to bring supporting documents to assist in the investigations.
The Public Protector will prioritize complaints lodged by women and children for the duration of the campaign.
The community of Khayelitsha and neighbouring places are invited to make use of the opportunity to report any government service or conduct failure.
