Public Protector to be part of the Pan African Parliament Panel in Johannesburg

Public Protector Adv. Thuli Madonsela will on Monday, 12 October 2015, be part of a panel discussion focusing on good governance and women empowerment at the Pan African Parliament’s women conference in Johannesburg.

She will be part of a panel discussion focusing on the role of good governance in reducing gap between law and policy on women’s economic empowerment.

Adv. Madonsela will share the platform with Ms Leila Ben Ali, an acting Director of the African Union Commission Directorate of women and development.

The Public Protector will draw on the lessons from her office and the continental body of ombudsman and mediators, the African Ombudsman and Mediators Association (AOMA).

The panel discussion will take place as follows:
