Public Protector and Northern Cape Traditional leaders agrees on a MOU of cooperation

The Northern Cape Public Protector Provincial office has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) which stipulates the framework for regular collaborations on outreach activities with the Northern Cape House of Traditional Leaders (NCHTL).

The agreement followed a meeting between the Public Protector Northern Cape Provincial Representative Botromia Sithole and the chairperson of NCHTL Chief PS Bareki, yesterday in Kuruman, to discuss their respective roles and look for possible areas of mutual collaboration especially in the areas of outreach.

The MOU was signed before the communities of John Taolo Gaetsewe district during the Public Protector’s commemoration of Heritage month in Batlharos village in Kuruman.

Speaking after signing the MOU, Kgosi Bareki said they were happy to be getting into collaboration with the Public Protector.
He further on behalf of traditional leaders in the province promised to help promote the office and ensure that the work of the office is supported.
