Deputy Public Protector to address SAHRC panel discussion on whistleblower protection

Deputy Public Protector Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka will on Wednesday, 09 March be part of a panel discussion focusing on the current national legal and institutional framework on the protection of whistleblowers in South Africa.

Joined by the University of Cape Town’s Associate Professor of Public Law Richard Calland, the panel will discuss challenges and gaps on the implementation of national and institutional framework on whistleblowers

Organised by the South African Human Rights Commission, the summit brings under one roof for consultative engagement, several key stakeholders to reflect on the current state of whistle-blower protection in South Africa and to deliberate on the particular reforms required for the relevant legal and institutional frameworks underlying the protection of whistleblowers in the country.
